Thank you very much for your hard work. I don't know of an R.F. McClain, but there may be a link. My lineage runs through Cooper and most likely Saline Counties and includes James William, Asa, David and Rebecca McClain.

I don't know of any Annie and Matilda McClain's in my past, but it's possible there is a relationship to them. My lineage includes Asa McClain (married to Nancy Jane Johnston), David McClain, Rebecca McClain and James William McClain. My father's research was primarily in Cooper County, so I'm expanding the net some.
Thank you for the post and I'd be interested in any additional leads or details you may have.

I rescind my earlier comment concerning the postcard labeled “Slater, MO, section of Washington Ave, looking west.”
We have a consensus with the Slater PL and other Slater residents that Parker St west of Central St was formerly named Washington Ave.

The marquee reads "Diamond From the Sky" released in 1915. I would guess the photo to be taken before 1920 and probably before the talkies of the 1930s.

The postcard labeled "Slater, MO, section of Washington Ave, looking west" is probably an error by the card maker. There has never been a Washington Ave in Slater, MO.

This view may possibly be in Marshall, MO where there is a Washington St, that runs east and west.

Jim Thoma, the County Coordinator for the Cooper County MOGenWeb site has also posted this cemetery. The document includes photos taken by Bob Younger.
