 Area:	Located in Salt Fork Township west of US 65 about half way  between
          I-70 and Marshall or next road north of Blue Lick road. Approximately  five
          miles south of Marshall, Missouri

History: "This is believed to be an all black  cemetery."  This  cemetery
          appears to well cared for and fenced. There are many  unmarked  graves  and
          many metal markers with no names. Listed on 30 Sep 1978 by  Rev.  J.  Wayne

The following goes with the photograph on the left: FOR THE FIRST FIVE MONTHS OF  HER
LIFE THIS WOMAN, PENELOPE, WAS A SLAVE, belonging to Dr. Crawford E. Smith of Napton.
          Then September 26, 1863 - almost 100 years ago - a certificate  of  freedom
          was issued to her under President Lincoln's Emancipation proclamation. That
          certificate, now framed and under glass for preservation, is  the  property
          of the Rev. Richard A. Lewis, 473 West Marion. When the girl  Penelope  was
          19 she married William Lewis and they lived many years  at  Pennytown.  She
          became widely known as Aunt Penny Lewis in her old years. She died in  1958
          at 95 years of age in the home of her son, Ed Lewis at Sedalia.
