Wedding vows were exchanged yesterday at the Rockhill Baptist Church by Miss Linda Price, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John M. Price and Mr. Joseph E. Casebolt, son of Mr. E. C. Casebolt.  The Rev. Sidney Scott performed the ceremony.

The bride chose a gown of candlelight saki linen with a Venise lace high rise bodice.  The A-line saki tunic overskirt and funnel train were edged with lace.  Her veil fell from a saki linen pillbox edged in lace, and she carried yellow Cymbidium orchids.
Miss JoEllen Price was maid of honor for her sister, and the bridesmaids were Miss Carol Bohnsack of Brookfield, Mo., and Miss Connie Krstolic.

Mr. David White was best man, and Mr. Ronald Levene and Mr. Kenneth Clark were the groomsmen.  Mr. Jim Reynolds and Mr. Larry Thompson ushered.

Ann Whitney Wheeler of Lawrence, Kas., was flower girl.  John Wesley Nash was ring bearer and Connie Lee Nash was the bride’s train bearer.  Karen Lynn Nash and Stephen Michael Starr of LaCrosse, Wis., lighted the candles.
A reception followed at the Twin Oaks after which the couple left on a wedding trip to the Ozarks.  They will be at home after September 1 in Lawrence, where the bride will be a senior at the University of Kansas and the bridegroom will continue graduate work in chemical engineering at K.U.

PHILLIP CASEBOLT DEAD

Phillip Casebolt died at a hospital in Fresno, California, Wednesday, May 17, and was buried at Exeter, his former home, Friday, May 19.

The deceased man was a brother of Ed. S. and A. J. Casebolt and Mrs. Polly Erwin, long residents of this vicinity and of Mrs. John Farrell (error Ferril), of California, all of whom have died in the past five years.  He is the last of that large family who played so important a part in the early development of this county.

William Phillip Casebolt was born in Pocahontas county, Va., February 15, 1842.  He came to Saline county, Mo., in 1844, with his parents, who settled near Miami.  At the age of 17, he engaged as a cleark in a store at Carrollton.  He afterward engaged in business in various pars of Missouri.  He was for a time postmaster at Petra, Saline county, being engaged at the same time in the general store merchandise business.  In 1878, he moved to Slater and built the first store building of the town at the corner of Main and Front streets and became the first postmaster of the town.

Mr. Casebolt was married twice, first to Mrs. Roberta Anderson of Tennessee, who died in 1873.  His second wife was Miss Celia Graves of Saline county, to whom he was married December 25, 1879.

He had lived in California for about ten years where he had been engaged in the drug business at Reedley.

Mrs. Z. T. Casebolt, former resident of Saline county, passed away yesteray at the home of her daughter, Miss Eleanor Casebolt, in Denver, Colo.

Funeral services will be at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon in the chapel of the Parker Funeral Home in Columbia.  The Rev. C.E. Lemmon will officiate and burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery, Columbia.

The body will be received in Columbia at 1:55 o’clock Sunday afternoon.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 o’clock.

Mrs. Lula Casebolt was the daughter of Henry and Ellen Hicks Tickemeyer and was born September 25, 1875 in Shackelford.  She was married in 1905 (error - 1906) to Z. T. Casebolt, who preceded her in death in 1958.  Mrs. Casebolt was educated at Missouri Valley College.  She had lived in Miami and Columbia until the death of her husband when she moved to Colorado to make her home.  Mr. Casebolt for many years was the postmaster at Miami and was a brother of Mrs. Ethel Sullivan and Mrs. Mame Kite.

Surviving are her daughter, Miss Eleanor Casebolt, and a son Stanton T. Casebolt and two grandsons, Scott and James Casebolt, all of Denver.

Mrs. Casebolt was a member of the First Christian Church in Columbia, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Daughters of 1812, a garden club and was Past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star in Miami.
